Funny, I didn't see that other thread.

It does bring to mind the ol' adage of things reaching peak performance just before they blow up - amplifiers, hot rods, relationships...

Story I won't say and one I will.

Robbing the 15w speakers out of 66/67 Marshall PA cabs to burn them at the stake for wailing solos.

And man. I sure miss that woman. haha

Thanks for the interesting responses! A few things. The amp has had a cap job, and a few resistors changed I believe. It also has webber speakers, as one of the 4 stock ones is blown. next time I am over there, I will make a clip and post it so you guys can check it out. As of now, I am saving my $$ for one. This is the first amp I have really craved since I played 183 for the first time. This one has affected (effected?) me the same way, but maybe even more so, because it fits my style better. It makes you want to sit there and play for hours on end. The difficult thing will be to find one and play it to make sure it sounds good. There are plenty on the net for sale, but no way to try before you buy. I have to say now I am in agreement with those who say a 59 bassman is one of the best tones out there. Really a haunting tone that is not easy to forget. My old 3/10 Bruno UG 30 was probably the closest thing as far as depth of tone is concerned. That amp had a bit to much gain for my arch tops however, and caused them to feed back at really low volumes. Thats the only reason I let it go after many years.
VERY GOOD VERY GOOD!
