Recycled 6v6 rocketish build

Looking good, how much boost did you go with?

I see boost switch plus extra triode wired up for gain.

I did the rocket booster first with switchable cathodes, 47 and 100. I didnt end up liking the rocket booster it was a little too much gain. I need a big clean sound for the country stuff the band I work for does so I settled for the switchable cathodes.

I seem to just leave it in the 47uf position but its nice to have the 100uf if I feel like it.

Did you decrease the V1a plate from 220k to 120k for more clean?

I put a 3-way switch on mine . 220K to ground making divider after the stock 220K before PI(ala Zwreck), a lift of that 220K from ground(stock Rocket), then the 220K lift and 2nd stage cathode cap gets the ground. Works well getting cleans/dirt at different levels with differnt guitars.

Maintone; I didn't like the tone of the Rocket Booster in my circuit either, so yanked it and went with changes to the tone stack, swapping the 50pf cap for 500pf, pulled the 220R leading into the PI, replacing it with a pot so it could be rolled out completely. I also put in 2 switchable 2nd gain stage bypass caps for lots of gain and grind. I like the tone and distortion characteristics much more than before, but my amp is probably grittier than you want with yours, however.

That trimmer is on the cathode follower. At the time I was going back and forth between the Zwreck and Rocket(very very similar), and had read that this can work as a compression control of sorts. I belive Zwreck ran 100K there, so I did 56K with 50K trimpot to make it variable.
