Better leave those armadilloes alone. Good way to pick up leprosy (Hansen's disease.) Came up a few years ago as an unexpected disease vector. Who knew? Life is tough enough without being a leper.

Mmm, delicious!
Might not taste so good if the lion had previously eaten a human. Dirty critters humans.

George Carlin had a schpiel where he said he wouldn't eat garbanzo beans because "who would eat food that began with the same letters as garbage?"

Turducken, same thing. I avoid it. It's fowl!

Set up a trap line, they hunt while you do other stuff.

Pellets will take most stuff you come across, cheaper and quieter than bullets.

Grow a big ass garden and learn your local wild edible plants. "Into the Wild" is speculation, that dude really died of stupidity, mommy/daddy issues, and distorted eastern college idealism more than anything else.

I keep a few of the big costco size taco seasoning in my food supply, makes all kinds of stuff palatable. Looking forward to squirrel fajitas when the time comes.

A good water source and creek, river, or stream nearby will provide all kinds of stuff, nettles, berries, fish, crawdad, etc. plus more game coming through.

I more or less live in the woods out of choice, diet is paleo kind of stuff with wild stuff added in for variety and health reasons.

Self reliance and doing your best to maintain (or acquire) good health are the best retirement plan going and always have been.

Plenty of grubs and snails are edible. And frogs. Just ask Bear Grylls
