Yes. A 50w Plexi.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

How to allow the player to think they have control over the tone settings (3 knobs, wow!) when they actually have very little.

Typical of Marshall TMBs. Set them, well, where ever you like, sit back and enjoy the tone.

My TMB tone controls work quite well, Greg. What schemo did you follow?

I used the Ceriatone layout. It is possible I missed something but I have been over it a number of times already. I built it a few years back out of a Crat carcass. It's ugly....REAL UGLY! The controls work but minimally.

Compare it to the layout they use today. Look at the tone cap values.
One should be a .01 and one should be a .022
if you have 2-.022 in the tone circuit, the bass control may seem to not do much.

I've built a few ceriatone tmb and the tmb just is'nt very effective, the treble seems to add to the over-all overdrive and the amp is overly bassy anyways and the mids just does'nt do much, I've found using a 500k bass pot instead of 1 meg gives a little more control, I just finshed one myself and have been doing some tweaking trying to get a little more out of the TMB controls, I'm not real happy with the master-volume it seems to add alot of white noise, it's a lot different than a liteIIb which is a real tone monster, I've had better luck with ZPs superlight tmb which has a master volume and tmb but no cf only its not as noisy and the tonestack has a little more control

Is it just me (my computer) or is that schematic way too small? Got a bigger one, Mark?

Yep that's more a fender type amp, plate driven tone stack, than a CF Plexi type. On that amp you could lift the ground from the mid pot,and make a gain boost switch. But with either amp, they can be tweaked to how ever someone likes, and get them to work.

And if you wanted just a tone control, you could do the brown note dirty amp.And you could, Instead of a tone control, just use a cut control setup.

Richie - lifting the Mid pot ground would do the same boost for a CF driven stack, wouldn't it?

That dirty 18 would have been better if it could go from a regular 18 watt amp to the dirty 18. I thought Zaphiod Phil had a similar circuit on the 18 watt forum?

Thanks for showing me the circuit Richie. :D
Yours Sincerely
