HRM - 100W or 50W? Why?

Which would you build? Why? Is it difficult to use a 100W amp in a "smaller" setting? Does the tone suffer too much to use it live if you need to NOT crank it?

I've had a 100 Watter for a few years now and I play it anywhere from my living room to small clubs to larger clubs with big stages.

I think it sounds fine at lower volumes, for smaller gigs I use 1 12" speaker, bigger places I use 2.

I was wondering about this too - which sounds better at low volumes? I was thinking a 50 since I'll never need more but does one seem to sound better than the other in general?

TRUST me, get a 100 watter, IF you REALLY need ta drop vol, simply pull (2) outer tubes, and HALVE the impedance on the speaker, so 8 ohms at 100 watts =(4) ohms at 50 watts pulling (2) tubes. Funk is RIGHT, these amps sound as good at LOW vol ( practically) as at higher vol, they sound WAY better to me LIVE with a MICROPHONE, thats where they SHINE!!

med volume at that!
