Diode for Switching Relays
Currently I'm using 1N4007's in switching my 12v relays. Is the 1N4007 good, or would one of the other 1N400x diodes be better. Or does it matter?
Re: Diode for Switching Relays
You don't need a 1kv diode, so a 1N4001 would work just as well. However, it's easier to stock just one style of diode for all applications.

And the 4001 is the same price as the 4007, so it makes senser to stock and keep track of just one p/n.

You should have a whole bunch of those on hand... they have many uses.
