Well, I've been contemplating the tube socket mounted to the turret board approach for the CAE 3+ SE preamp I'm getting ready to build. Seven 12AX7's!?!
For a while I actually was drawing up radial parts placement, but it kind of screws with where you want to run B+ and grounds. It would be so much easier if pins 6 and 8 were swapped, I could achieve symmetry.

I have made piles of dead end drawings so far.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

Yeah, I like to use graph paper. Makes it look all engineering-like, like that Forrest Cook guy that used to write/draw for Radio Shack.Reeltarded wrote:I have made piles of dead end drawings so far.
Except my pencil doesn't have an eraser, so after several revisions, it looks like a prescription my doctor would write, or my signature on those touch screen things at the pharmacy.
Well not as bad as my signature on the touch screen thingies, I don't even try anymore. "Thoma-fuck it."

Ugh - a list? How about if anybody needs anything, they just holler and I will chime in if I have it?
Before I moved to NM I had a real boat load of old military surplus stuff I got from years of never throwing anything away. I got rid of a lot of it when I moved (before I started building amps), but I still have some stuff. I'm still wondering how many good NOS tubes went to the dump when I "slimmed down" my junk box. Wish I knew then what I know now.
