Found one,No smoke or fire ,and no sound,going to start checking everything.Hopefully ill get this thing going.I will for sure do some clips for you guys.I do appreciate all you help boys,be back shortly,mikey

Still fussing with this thing,tubes all light up,I put a rec tube in the power tube socket by accident and the amp actually worked for a about 20 seconds then I shut it down.Somehow a tube got mixed in with the 6l6's.Man I felt like an idiot.But with the tube all in correctly no sound,I'm going to check every solder joint and resister values tomorrow.Not giving up on this thing,mikey

Keep it up Mike. Has to be a simple loose connection. Has to be at this point.

Mikey take a break and then go over each wire making sure you did not mis-wire the amp. Hopefully the info I emailed you will help.

If it worked for 20 seconds it will work forever once you figure out where the signal stops. Really check those grounds, not just the chassis grounds but recognize that the jacks are also grounds on that amp, then focus on probing the circuit until you find the last place where signal passes.

It's not close, it's finished but has a problem.

Do the loose probe thing on all the preamp tube socket pins starting with the PI and tell me what you heard. I am away from the phone from 1-4pm today.

Yup,I know I am in good hands with you guys!Spent a good part of the day at dr.app..Im getting. Hip replacement and my wife needs a procedure where they mess with the electrical system in her heart.She gets svt"s and they have to reset her heart by stopping it and then restarting.Now I know I'm having trouble with this amp but could you imagine inserting a tool and camera into a vein and going up inside someone's heart chambers doing some troubleshooting then fixing the problem.Now that has to be stressful.Makes my 5e3look like a joke.It amazing what some Dr"s do and do it up to 3 diff patients per day.Anyway thanks guys ,hope to be soldering today a bit,mikey

The thing that kinda sucks with this amp is the chassis is tight the tube sockets are in sideways a picture taking is beat.I do have a thought and that might be dangerous,Could the output primarys be hooked up wrong,The red went to the power switch and the brown and blue went to the power tubes.
If a diff one went to the power wouldnt that give me problemos.Anyway there is really just a faint sound not getting anything at all.I hope I did not wreck the output when I had my alzheimer"s moment with the rec tube.No rush guys,got to get a dog fence in today anyway,Thanks as Allways Gentlemen,Mikey
