TW Liverpool - with much respect for KEN FISHER

After much consideration, here I am, asking something I forced myself, for days, not to ask.

Is there someone that could point me in the direction of a good TRAINWRECK LIVERPOOL schematic? I'm not looking for some kind of CERIATONE clone or something. I don't even think that they´re any good.

Believe me when I tell you that I tried hard no to ask you this but, truth is I cannot find, play, ear anything that pleases me half as much as this peace of electronic art.

You'll have a hard time building amps without schematic knowledge. It's possible to just use layouts, but that's no way to build. Real guidance comes from a schematic. Looks like you have much homework to do. And buy a couple books as well. A lot of great reads out there. Trust me, if you want to build amps, you need to learn this stuff.

I believe the OP said in his other post that he would be having an amp built for him by a local tech, once he decided on a topology.

But yeah, sage advice from Vibratoking and Blackburn. Don't attempt this without the necessary skill set. You put yourself and possibly others at great personal risk.

Hello BLACKBURN and COLOSSAL.

I don´t know anything about guitar amp tubes. The only thing I care about is losing some of my "ignorance" in the subject matter. That way I can understand better what is good to my ears or not and, therefore, communicate much better with my amp guitar tech what I´m looking for. I tried a lot of amps in music centers and the likes; this brand, that brand, this boutique and boutique, black blue; even asked friends to use for a while one or two one of their own in gigs just to understand what I could and could not do with them...

I'm just a man who plays the guitar. Nothing more nothing less. But the amp is an integrating part of my art, is an integrating and important part of my self expression as a musician. I cannot communicate well, thrutfully, if I´m not speaking the right language. So, as long I keep earing this sound that haunts my brain, I must endure the task of being mistaken for a fool who dosen´t know Jack Schmit from Jack Schmit, and keep on going... forward.

That said, I must say, for the sake of good communication, that I'm not looking for the Peter Green tone, the Roy Buchanan sparkling screams or the buttery bends of Clapton... I just needed a platform close enough to what I want, and then, with the help of my guitar amp tech - specialized in vintage tube guitar amps -, tweek it to my taste...

I don´t want to build anything, every one to it´s own thing; I'm a musician. Even thought I know how to setup my guitars I prefer to give them to my luthier who only does that for a living.

If you have played a bunch of amps you should sit down with your amp tech. Explain what you liked and disliked and have him build you a truly custom amp. The TW circuit isn't really modifiable like say a fender or Marshall.

Have you played a TW or did you hear it was the holy grail? Basically everything you don't want is what this amp does. If you don't want sparkling highs and a compressed edgy grit. This isn't the amp you want. Also if you use pedals again not the amp.

Have you considered a hiwatt with pedals to drive the input?

Simpler question have you played a 60's vox AC30 top boost? If so while you played it did you think to yourself if only I had a compressor and more high end, with no real energy under 350hz? That's basically the Liverpool.
