New Wood

I am finishing up a Flame Maple cabinet and it looked so good I decided to share.
One picture was taken with a flash and one without. The cabinet has only been stained.. no clear yet.
The faceplate is going to be Birdseye..
It should look killer when completed.

Just got my first build complete as well. Sounds as killer as she looks! Laser engraving not complete yet. I'm still debating if I want to actually do that.

The quilted maple is actually glued together. It's pretty difficult finding wood in that width but the artist making the cabinets for me has incredible sources.

That is going to be one lovely head for sure. Don't you love it at that point where it really looks sort of "iffy" then you shoot the first coat of clear and BANG!!!! the figure jumps out....

I am still your biggest fan literally and figuratively... Keep up the impressive work..

what kind of wood is the dark wood and what was used to produce the black edging line between the light and dark wood on the front "V"? She's just georgous.

The dark wood in between the "V" is ebony. I thought it was a really nice accent to the quilted maple & waterfall bubinga. She sounds as good as she looks!

I'd LIKE to take credit for the actual wood work but I didn't actually do the work myself. I instructed the artisian I'm working with on what I wanted done. The dovetails were done by jig & router. The new design I'm working on will be even more "trick" with more "bling" than this one. If you'd like more specifics on the craftsmanship, I can get the information to you.

Bob,
The person directly responsible for the work is a female research scientist who does wood working as a hobby. I got in touch with her by coincidence. This her very first attempt at making an enclosure. I gave her the design & direction but the craftsmanship is all her.
