It's the 5F6A with MM iron (RadioSpares OT with triple primary), Sozo Mustards, carbon films, original TungSol 5881s, original Mullard 5AR4 and assorted OS preamp glass, of which I've tried many combinations. The B+ is lower, around 405v on the plates and I've used every primary tap on the OT with the TungSols to taste, all through the Elegante. Bassman with British OT. Was really trying for the JTM sound, just need another Crossroads so I'll have two.

Here it is.

Talk to Diego at Austin guitar house about the tweed Bassman I modified for him. It sounded pretty anemic before the after was very Bluesbreaker . Sounds like all your parts are in order.

I may do that. What kinds of modifications did you do? I've tried the .68uf cap and didn't really like how the volume 'jumped' right at the get go, so I took it out. It was also a good deal brighter. I do really like having the much lower B+, though. With my LP, I can get this bitch clipping at a whisper. Hopefully another Crossroads will give me what I've been looking for.

I use the Jensen Blackbird 100 Watt alnico in my 60 watt clean amp build and I am converted...best sounding speaker I have ever used. I normally fit Celestion G12-65s as the standard but everybody who auditions the Jensen is more than happy to pay the upcharge.
Works wekk clean and really likes overdrive.

Very nice. I really like the documentary build. Sounds great. Where's your website ? I think this is something OZ at Austin Guitar House might be interested in.

Billyz,
My website is not live yet. I'm in the process of achieving CE certification for this product and can't really sell them legally in the EU (I'm based in Ireland) until I have this. I have a few inquiries from the US and I am investigating UL certification...but this seems to be even more of a challenge than CE....

But UL isn't a must, it's just a badge.

Ship them here separate from chassis. :)

MADE IN AMERICA!! EFF YEAH!!!

PS: That damned amp sounds freaking fantastic!
