I'm posting this just in case it might help any of you guys. I went to a physical therapist with a lot of trepidation, and after the second time my doctor suggested it. My shoulder impingement is also known as Frozen Shoulder Syndrome.

My first visit was fantastic. Yes a little pain, but I doubled the mobility in my shoulder.

If you've never been to physical therapy, don't be afraid of it. I had the best night of sleep I've had in years, because my shoulder wasn't hurting.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

My job was very strenuous and I pretty much relied on that to keep me in shape.
I was about 180 lbs for years.
At 6' 2" it was a good weight for me.

Now, since I haven't worked in a few years, I have gained about 30 pounds and my belly is big.
I know I have the extra weight but I also know my stomach muscles have gone to pasture.....

I really hate exorcises but I'm going to have to do something aerobic to burn the fat and tone the muscles.
A note to no one in particular and everyone in general is----ROWING MACHINE! The best one you can find. The old Nordic Trac Rowers are by far the best but they don't make them for the US market any more. Find them on Craigslist. It's aerobic, you can build slowly, and it hits every muscle group. When I lived and worked in Alaska the rower was a religion for me. Every day. Get up, go pee, twenty minutes on the rower, power protein shake, coffee and off to work at 6AM. Never in my whole wide life felt better. I can't get over about 11 minutes now (Shine on you Crazy Diamond from the Live in Gdansk album) but it works. I'm getting back in shape. I'll be at 20 minutes in another month.

I had an impinged left shoulder for about a year-and-a-half did all the exercises and PT with minimal temporary improvements, I had started trying some "emotion code" energy healing using kinetic testing that was helping my anxiety problems that my therapist recommended.

I was skeptical at first but I figured I had tried all the pills the docs gave me and those didn't work, so I was willing to try something that wouldn't have all the awful side effects and make me feel worse. It helped some with my anxiety and so I tried it to see if there were any trapped emotions in my shoulder, found a few and cleared them out and didn't think any more about it. The next morning I was sitting there and my shoulder went "pop" and the pain was gone, I reached up and could put my arm over my head and touch my right shoulder for the first time in 18 months.

I do a lot of alternative health stuff because for the last few years the regular docs where just tossing pills at me and taking my money and making me sicker. Finally moved and went to my old doctor who did DNA testing and some other tests to find out I had celiacs, gluten intolerance, parasites, and a blood disorder that keeps me from absorbing folic acid properly. Slowly starting to feel better. Lost 20 pounds that came on with the anti depressants just by getting rids of the parasites and quitting wheat/gluten and taking the right vitamins.

Been "rebounding" on a mini trampoline, really like that for a simple work out, and eating really good food for years (lately getting into fermented foods). Quit drinking when I turned 25, now I'm 45. Never smoked cigs.

The most important thing I learned is that doctors only think they know everything, and that everybody is different and needs to find what works for them especially diet wise, but it's worth the effort. Scientific studies are cool for covering your ass for malpractice or what works most of the time but sucks for outliers like myself. Check out metabolic typing. There's tons of good info on the net to sort through if you know what to look for and keep fresh batteries in your BS meter. I was vegetarian for a lot of years and lowfat, basically what the doctors recommend, now I eat meat and saturated fats and few to no carbs other than veggies and fruits and feel much better, lost my belly, more energy, and cholesterol and blood pressure is as good or better. Like I said everybody is different.

Oh yeah I try and do yoga regularly too, that's probably #1 for feeling young, I can touch my toes something I could never do before I started doing yoga, even when I was "fit" and young. I live in hippy central so it's cool. Gotta get cbass out here to show him how the norcal hillbillies do it

If anybody's interested in this kind of stuff, feel free to PM me, if I could help anybody with tips and ideas feel even just a little better with all the stuff I've learned trying to get well the last few years it would make my day.
