Anyway, I finally got it fixed and heard this thing.
This amp is unreal!!! This really is a great, great amp. Definitely something special! I'm really grateful to Mr. Fischer for being generous enough to share his design with us (and to all the folks here!).
It's really my dream amp. And it's not too loud afterall. After all the comments on how loud it is, I guess I was expecting it to be more. But I am using 96db M75 scumbacks. I think a lot of folks run these with the 100db 12h30s. It would proabably be pretty loud with those.
But this thing is the perfect gigging volume, I think. And I'm not really a high-gain kind of guy, but this is a different kind of high gain. It's so clear it seems like it's cleaner, though the controlled feedback and sustain tell you otherwise!!
Just a magnificent amp. Man, o man!
As for the bright comments, yeah it's fairly bright, but the warmth of the M75s help a LOT. Also I used carbon comp resistors (I just don't like the way the carbon films sound, sorry Ken!) and also Sozo caps, which are quit warm too. So I think I hit on a good alternative recipie.
Anyway, thank you to everyone here's who's been so kind and especially a big thanks to Ken Fischer and his generosity.
WOW!!!
