Mercury Magnetics

Post by skyboltone »

He gents:
I'm sending off the Hammond Organ AO-35 iron to Paul at Mercury Magnetics for his clone files. I don't know if there is anything in it for me but at least the iron will be available for those who want to try it out. He says they open but don't unwind anything and he'll send them back as good as he got them.

When I rebuild, I want to use that cute little chassis so will either use a multi cap can or put some spragues on top and cage the hot stuff somehow. R-27 was badly toasted, leading me to conclude a shorted filter cap. It came with AU7s in the AX7 slots and an old pair of Hammond branded EL84s made in Holland.

Any bad stories about sending old iron off to Mercury?
