Bruno rep responds

Post by kgreene »

For those of you who have been following the "bruno schematic" post, I thought you might be interested to know the the Bruno"rep" I made reference to about receiving poor treatment has responded to me personally by email after seeing the postings.
You can read his response which I will paste in below, but I'm leaving out a phone # he left as an offer to contact him.
Although I appreciate his response and offer to help, based on my previous experience I'm not highly motivated to get involved with him again. He may be sincere in his words here, however I have a difficult time reconciling how anyone can be so darn rude and beligerent to a customer and brush it off as a "bad day". Nevertheless, I felt it's only fair to show his side of the story, and let people see his email to me, which I have pasted below. Anybody can make a mistake, I guess, so I'll at least listen to what he has to say.

KG,

I saw your post on the Amp Garage Forum. You caught me on a bad day.
Tony had been really ill and we are buried and behind with orders.
Some weeks I get close to 50 extra phone calls from people that buy amps on Ebay
that we do not even carry and they expect free advice from me.
There has also been some additional personal struggle in my life as well.
I am sorry if I came off that way. Feel free to call me in regard to your amp.

Also, for the record, I am not related to Tony Bruno.
I amp the sales manager for Ultrasound amps in NYC.
We carry Bruno, Komet, Matchless, Diezel, Dr Z, Trainwreck, Dumble, etc..
I am also a session musician and a guitar teacher.
If you do some research on the other forums and online, you will see that
my reputation, my knowledge, and my customer support are all top shelf.

Agreed however this is what bugs me
that we do not even carry and they expect free advice from me.
Is he a "rep"? if he is then it isnt "free advice"

If he is just a Bruno dealer then he should have steered you to the right guy to talk to.

Ken Volpe is nothing more than a salesman. If he thinks you are going to by an amp he is your best friend. If not he has no time for you. I asked about a replacement cab head for komet that I had and he basically told me I had to buy a new Komet. I talked with a very close friend of Kens (Fischer) and he said he would take care of it. I had a new cab head in 3 weeks.

That is respectable that he apologized. I am glad he saw what can happen when you treat a customer like shit.

I think Ken is Good people, we all have rough days-and having worked in retail for a large portion of my working years I can get where he is coming from, but I also am one to give a referral to "Who CAN help you" before I give people the proverbial Broom. That's just good business, telling someone to shove off just because you can't sell them something isn't cool...JMHO

Hey, How are ya,

Did you get a chance to play thru the amp, and if so , how did you like it ...also, how does it compare to a 36 watter( I figure that is sort of a similar amp)

Thanks,
Chris
