Getting closer. I'll mount the relays next. I know its been mentioned in other threads but the hoffman relay boards are nice. Much better than using turrets to solder the relay sockets to. Plus he always ships fast and has great customer service.

That does look pretty awesome, but there's a stability question. It's not quite clear from the photos, but are you gonna support the back end - where all the weight is?

If you haven't got that covered, may I suggest rack ears that are tall enough to clear the transformers and tall tubes, nearly the full length/depth of the box and attached to your chassis' top and/or sides at a few locations?

Hope this helps!

No kidding!
That is going to be one heavy rack chassis!

Don't let that smoke out!

donmoose good idea. I have a ear on the back. Its steel and seems solid enough to me. Not as large as the ones you suggested. I'd hate to see how much those would cost. The ones I got are on ebay for about 10 bucks a pair.

structo. My back can handle it and that's all that matters.

As long as there's an upright back there. Not a lot of racks do.

Board is in. Its a little cramped with the sockets near the pots so this won't be my favorite part of the build.

Yeah that looks great to me and fun seeing it come together.

But wow that is large for a rack unit :)

If I may make a suggestion...
Not knowing what you plan to do for rack mounting, I would like to suggest something along the lines of the photo attached that I did for a power supply that I built for one of my transmitters. This allows for proper weight distribution due to the weight placed onto the back of your chassis. NO rack ears of any type is likely to support your arrangement without severely warping or compromising the beautiful build you have there.
It's worth considering if you haven't done so already.
Beautiful job by the way! :)

Edit: Sorry for the sideways photo, it loaded up this way for some strange reason.

Well I just need to wire up the filaments and the footpedal for the 183 side. Hopefully should be able to fire it up tommorow. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. Here is my first youtube video  Now I know I've officially gone off the deep end. Anyways its a recording I did a little while ago of the bluesmaster clean channel with a strat into a jbl k120 d120 212. I have the dual recs in this clip. Really like the feel of this setup as opposed to the solid state plug in rec.

Awesome build! I'm really enjoying watching people do their own takes on the dumble platforms. It keeps things fresh around here.

Here it is. Works ok but I have some noise issues on the 183 side. Not hum as the heaters are elevated. Its a loud hiss and I am going to have to get the chopsticks out and troubleshoot my lead dress. I figured once I got this thing wired up I'd still have some work to do. Anyways I'm happy that it actually works and can play both amps at the same time.

swap some preamp tubes around first - you may just have a crummy one.

Hiss in clean and dirty? - V1, then loop tube (if any)
clean only? - V1
dirty only? - V2

Hope this helps!
