Every pledge drive, KEXP has a contest and the neighborhood in Seattle that donates the most gets a free concert. Ballard won this year and this was the free concert we got.
Another thing that amazed me (which doesn't really stand out in this video) is how good the bass sounded. The guy is playing one of those Ampeg micro stacks. I think he had the direct out going to the PA, but the tone was really nice.
I was so impressed I went to a local store to try out the amp. Ended up playing several small Ampeg heads and cabinets, and it turns out just about everything sounded good through that little 2x10 cab. Apparently it is exactly 1/4 of the standard SVT 8x10 cab.

It's not just the amp... that dude can play! Great stuff.LeftyStrat wrote:Another thing that amazed me (which doesn't really stand out in this video) is how good the bass sounded. State Radio's bass player is pretty much awesome. When he plays half the set's solos on the bass up the neck and you think it's guitar you gotta give it when it's due.
Passafire's bass player is also really good. Two great unknown reggae bands.

I like! Thanks for posting that.
Her style of playing reminds me of Ali Farka Toure from Mali. Nice!
