Quick power cord question

Post by Matt72 »

On the 3 prong power cord...
I know green goes to ground, does it matter whether black of white goes to the fuse?
Thanks!

It will work either way, but depending on who you talk to, one way is wrong.

I always put the fuse & switch in series with the LINE (black) voltage and keep the NEUTRAL (white) hardwired, but I'd be interested in hearing arguments to the contrary.
Remember kids...Always adjust for minimum smoke!

on most IEC chassis connectors, it will tell you which is neutral and which is line/hot. i prefer to use the fuse on the line.
