Google will unlist any site associated with a malware warning. This, unfortunately, often means that completely innocent third party websites that are mentioned on a search referral will be tainted. They need to address this but so far, over a year, they have refused. It was written up in one of the IT magazines.

I can read and post on this thread. The whole site is not blacklisted by Google. It appears that certain threads are affected at this point.

I'm sure I didn't state the problem right. Ok, say I got this little coffee roasting company called "Dead Cat Drip". There is a website called "Coffee Lovers Garage" that has a link to deadcat.com. So deadcat.com gets infected by a virus. Google not only de-lists deadcat.com but also coffeegarage.com too. And vice versa. Coffeegarage.com gets infected and google de-lists deadcat.com and every other link on their site. This hurts folks.

Interestingly the thread started by eazilyled is giving me the google malware message. That thread only has 5 posts ATM, could it be one of those 5 posters that is linked to an affected site?

Cheers,

Paul.

My assumption is that it is any thread that contains an attachment. All threads with jpg files do it - pdf files don't. Another assumption is that it is big brother Google looking out for us like nobody else can/will. A lot of assumptions but then, I am an ass.... Turn off the phishing and malware protection in Chrome settings and live dangerously. We're badass rebels up in here.

I don't believe that user is to blame at all.
He has over 100 posts here and they all within the constraints of the Garage.

Apologies to eazilyled and the other 4 posters in that thread (I don't know who they are, as I haven't been able to check).

It wasn't my intention to accuse anybody and certainly not eazilyled, I was just trying to offer an idea that might help us get to the bottom of the mystery.

All the pages I'm able to access have no .pdf/.jpg file in them, so my money is on stelligan's hypothesis.

Have a great weekend,

Paul.

My thread has picture attachments of the malware message, so I guess that could be it too if the problem is related to attachments.

Hi eazilyled,

I was up in Derbyshire a few weeks ago, I should have brought my amps with me for a mini amp fest!

Have a good Christmas,

Paul.

Dan, (Skyboltone) is this a problem that the server host should resolve or webmaster?

This is getting old having to get a warning all the time.

It's a bit unsettling since I spent about a week recently ridding my computer of Malware.

I am not an IT guy. I just read all the news and this story keeps coming up. There are law suits over it. I have no idea what mechanism is at work here but I thought it odd that only the google chrome and it's related products seem to be causing the problem. I suspect that one download someplace on the site is dirty or was dirty. So google puts the site on a shit list and there it stays. I'm not having any problem with my Mac.
