vibrolux reverb

Post by ampmike »

My daughters boyfriend has a vibrolux reverb reissue. He is beginning to see the harsh reality that those amps pretty much dont have it.Im looking for a kit to build him so he could have a more handwired version.Marsh is really all I see out there. Not cheap, about a grand.
The trannies in the reissue got to go as well.So really all I would use would be the cab, speakers, reverb tank.Anybody know where I could get a package deal on that amp.Mojo does not seem to have that build either.I got a lot of amps here that need help before I do this but planning and daydreaming is all part of this disease.Thanx Guys,Mikey

Mikey I know nothing about the Fromel kits but it came up in my google search to help you. http://fromelelectronics.com/modificati ... lux-Reverb

You can get a BF garolite board from Turretboards.com and drill new mounting holes and use your existing resistor/cap supply or get small parts kit from mojo (I know they don't have exact kit) but the parts are the same.

What about Hoffman Amps? Not the same layout but worth a shot I think.

Edit: I don't think he sells a kit though.....I haven't checked his site in quite a while.

If it is the "custom vibrolux" I have converted a few to vibroverb spec and they sound much better. The circuit board is the same for both.

Thanks Guys,He opted for me to make him a Foxy 18.He likes the cab I have for it,at the end of the day i could have bought a mojo super reverb and got seperate trannies for it.Mojo gives a nice discount but dont offer that particular model. They have some good sales from time to time and really have some decent kits.So thanks fellas for all your help,Im headed out alligator hunting today :D Mikey
