Tomorrows workshop

After 30 years of working in less than ideal conditions.....finally, I start in my new workshop tomorrow morning....Wohooooooo.
With 1000 sq ft of space for repairs and amp construction.

Very tidy.

I don't know if you can still buy real light bulbs there, but I HATE flourescents as work light.

Try a nice halogen bulb for a work light. You'll see better and feel less tired from straining to see.

Eyes don't like narrow bandpassed light.

Cantplay. I agree about the light. The fluorescents are the latest electronic ballasts and are very noisy. Have to do something about that shortly.
Cleanliness.....all the rubbish is out of shot. A friend took a photo of me in another workshop in the late 80's whick ill scan and post tomorrow. Funny.

Yea.I noticed you got 3 irons ready to go,Ill get a ticket and fly over.Im Irish too!!!No but on a serious note you definitely dont look like an amature.A lot of equipment I would"nt know how to use.That really is the nicest shop I have ever seen.Mikey

Yes Mikey. I now make my living from this. The three irons are necessary because I service PowerSoft amplifiers which have 5 layer boards and I need serious horsepower in the desoldering tool. Oki/Metcal uses RF skin effect to heat the tip. Very clever. The smaller one is an Ersa iCon Nano which is another fantastic tool for general and sensative older PCBs. Anybody notice the 3.5 KW stereo test load to the top right wall? I have made this glow with a PowerSoft K10 amp.

You call that a workshop? There should be crap piled everywhere, tools squirreled away where you can't find them and dozens of plastic cups and baggies full of amp parts that you can't remember where they go!

Your Hitachi scope looks identical to mine (60MHz I believe).
That's about all that looks similar...
Legend has it that there are workbenches under the stuff in my shop.

Ok....I'm rumbled...this is me in 1987.....now that's what a real workshop looks like. One of my customers decided to capture the mayhem.
Does anybody else feel the need to embarrass themselves?
