Wouldn't the oldest PRS be under 25 years old. That would be a lot of wear for a 25 year old guitar even if you played 5 gigs a week.
I guess most of these newer guitars with plastic finishes will never look like the old ones even 50 years for now.It would take a lot of strummin to wear through a 1/16" thick poly finish.
I guess I've been stupidly putting my guitars back in their cases to perserve their value when I should be throwin them on the floor, burnin them with doobies, playin em after I eat BBQ without washin, peein on em etc.

Great, now we need to start a registry that tracks guitars so we'll know if they have been urinized. Oh! A new relic term.

I have a 73 Strat that I sort of had to "relic" (though that was not the intent): the neck developed a reverse bow and a twist and a little sideways bow, so after years of trying to heat it and clamp it (which worked temporarily), I finally pulled all the frets (pushed actually, they're still the sideways ones) replaned the neck get the profile close to right, moved the whole bridge/block assembly slightly to compensate for the sideways bow, and now it looks totally like hell. Mostly playable though. Should have just bought a neck.

He got the wear from playing hours of deathmetal palm mutting while wearing one of these and running his strap high. The scratches on the back are from his mr.Tee necklaces.Chris G wrote:My .02 on this, That guitar at 20 or 30 years wouldn't have that kind of wear through the finnish on the face of the guitar.
It's to far down and dosen't match the back where the belt buckle marks are.....I like the relicsBut if you take the time to look through some pictures you will find most don't have the kind of wear these guy's are putting on them. It's to much. He could have gotten better results just doing the side's. IMHO.
What's up with the Lemmon juice and salt ? never herd that one, does it blacken up the grain???

Iwould think if you wanted to imatate buckle rash you would get your biggest belt buckle on and play the damn thing.Of course while wearing your Mr. T neckalace and goth bracelet

It reminds me of new jeans I see with fake wear and creases that could never happen.
Any obviously faked item marks one as a poser, be it watch, clothing, or guitar.
You gotta wear it yourself, and be proud of the scars that time and work build.

I want to go slap some screws on the back of my guitar so it appears Ive play guitar around a lot of loose screws for years. Nothing but the best for my collection! At least that guy openly said he didint want to do it...
Quite a few people have asked me for reliced cabinets. If I ever agree to it I'll make us a new video. No peeing though, I promise.
I think yellowy nitro and weather checks are cool, when thy are real or done VERY tastefully
