A challenge!

Got the Zappa reference...good times.
Before we get too far off track.
Yes she's looking at Mouser but can't even find it.
Seems "IEC" is a universal term worthy of $6,000 tool sets.

Re: Name Your Tool Fantasy
I'd love to have an IEC chassis punch for AC sockets.
Has anybody tried using a "nibbler" for cutting out rectangular holes? They used to be available at Radio Shack. I don't know how well they work.

I've got those and if you're replacing the same gauge wire, they're great. But that never happens: you replace two conductor w/ three conductor or up the gauge for higher current and nothing fits. Can't we all just live together and share one awesome workspace? About 15k sq ft should do it, with easy access to parts and consumables, cheap food, and a quiet nap space.

I bet no one has one of these yet. Under $200 to build... but just barely.

To people wanting Greelee punches, the way to do it is a little at a time, when you have a small order from Mouser add one punch. Or if you have a big order adding $35 might be marginal. That's how I did it, over two years. You only need a few - 1 1/4, 1 1/8, 3/4, 1/2, though now you need 30mm for Beltons instead of 1 1/8.
Someone mentioned the nibbler. Get one, I did, changed my life, amp life anyway. Get the Klein. There's a learning curve as you can't really see what your nibbling but with a 3/8 drill, 1/2 punch, and the nibbler I can do an IEC now in 15 minutes rather than an hour of misery with a file. No metal dust either.
For $150 maybe I can get a science lab rescue chimp and train him to do heaters for me.
