Bruisemaker in progress
Finally got the last of the parts in and started on amp 1.
My repurposed board ugly thing doesn't belong in the tech. Just showing ugly as it goes.
Deck stripped, new filters (32/32-50/50) repurp'd Metro JTM-T board with bit off turrets and installed JMP OT today. 1.8k 3w Piher v1a with 9.71k 2w v1b. 827r Iskra next with 57k Piher CF. 556pF RS cap. I am going to use the trem tube as the PI, and use usual v2 position for other 12ax7 stages. Not having luck in mule with Ef86 there.
After work tomorrow I am going to continue spreading the mustard up to the output couplers, I like Sozos there. TS sounds more interesting with the old ones. Assemble the control set, and replace the choke with an open frame model. Maybe by Thursday I will install the board and take a look at voltages. If it all checks out I will be banging on it that night or Friday if nothing comes up.. then with the tweaking. Yay.. I love that part. I hate dealing with the deck, I swear..
No, really.. I swear, and swear..

Looking good. So why is this Garage Talk? You can come on in and have a seat in the Tech forum to discuss this.

Re: Bruisemaker in progress
No way. It's disgusting! lol everything is robbed from something and it's going to look like dohickey. Next one I am doing won't have anything but new stuff, and that one will be pretty enough.. until then.. heh.
I can't wait to see how close it is when I power up though. Gonna be hard to sleep for a couple nights. I have never done a tube rectifier before. I hope I like this circuit with it.

Miles looking good.
I've never built an amp with original mustards or old resistors if I ever chance on some I might try clone a Marshall.

This is how I tried to get out of a ticket once. "I looked bof'ways!". Apparently it's ok to cause a high speed police chase, but it's not ok to join one? Come on! I have to get to McDonald's before McRib is over!Bob S wrote:.

I with I had an angle grinder to cut the front lip off where it connects to the bottom plate for combo mounting. I should have had it machined off before I started. It makes me get burned with the iron more than I had imagined.
Now, if I can just get through with work today without a panic attack. I want this thing to go.

Re: Bruisemaker in progress
Well, someone borrowed my hook-up wire to tie a trunk lid down or something. I am cleaning my guns. Out of luck for a week now. Nothing but 300v @ Radio Shack.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr omg what a load of crap.
