Hello,
I want build a Rocket clone. For the OT I have a 50 Watt Marshall replacement iron. So around 4k Raa.
Can I use it? When I turn at 4 Ohm with a 8 Ohm Speaker?
There will be 4 x EL84.
Best

Re: OT for Rocket
a 50w marshall OT should measure around 3k3 or 3k4, not 4k. that's a little low if you use high voltages or use a 50R cathode resistor like an ac30

Hi,
yes, thats exactly my problem. But I could "missmach" it as I wrote, with the 4 ohm node on the 8 Ohm speaker.
But would´nt be the 35 watt OT better than the 50 watt (same primary). there would be than around 7k.
Or is this again too high?
BTW: isn´t the 80µF too high for the GZ34? 50µF (or 2x 22µF, 2x30µF) would fit there better, or not?
