express gets me a 250 dollar ticket

Neighbors finally got sick of my wreck. I never play it long in the house, just changing some tone stack caps at about 11 am. Got it sounding real nice. Two hours later the police at at my door with a ticket.
Anyone else have a great tranwreck story??

This is correct. The neighbor has to swear out the complaint then show up in court for the hearing for it to be valid. This happened to me 11 years ago.

The biotch never showed up. But I did get taken away to jail for "loud, unreasonable noise" on a citizen's complaint, and released about an hour later.

The difference was that the "offense" I performed was with a 9w amp cranked through two old Greenbacks at 2pm in the afternoon, not at 11:30 pm while I was asleep.

They have called the police on me for the past 2 years. They cops come maybe twice a year.
I live in a house with a pretty big lot. The first time was when I was plinking on a tweed priceton in my living room. I thought I could make some noise legally but according to the codes any amplified stuff is up to the descretion of the neighbors..
The police never come when I play, its always hours later.I never got a formal warning , like on paper.
I guess I was dumb to admit to them it was me making the noise, But I thought I had a right to.
Sometimes a cop would tell me I had a right to play.
I can understand the wreck, it is too loud to gig oudoors ! But the princton??
The cops said the neighbor was looking forward to seeing me in court, So I chickened out and paid the fine with a nice letter. I didnt want to see them in court sobing, holding there melted ears and claiming some wierd mental crap on me..
There dog does do a lot of barking though.......

If your town has a noise ordinance, the details will be in the statute. Usually there will be hours of enforcement. If it says something like "unreasonably loud" that can usually be appealed for being unenforceably vague. But you should be respectful of your neighbors.

I agree, I asked them once when there would be a good time for me to play/test , maybe while they were at work. They told me it was none of my business, which of course is true.

I cranked a MkIIb Boogie with everything on ten and they showed up 45 minutes after I played Tie Your Mother Down because that is how long it took them to find me. Middle of the afternoon. Laughing cops. Was cordial. Last noise complaint I ever got, and that was maybe 1983. They asked me to play the song I started with again at a lower volume. A hoot.

I crank 2 Majors here to lucky 7 all the time in the daylight hours. Neighbors are close enough to enjoy, for sure. They never say anything, but they have complained once about the AK47 after 100 rnds or so. I have a range behind me. Yeah. That is loud and kinda annoying. I reserve it to about 20 or less these days, or before noon. (Soaps?)

I lived in an apartment and the neighbors didn't complain, I did crank the amp but I don't do it often. I'm now in a house but I think I would have fought the ticket.

My neighbors daughters are learning to play the piano. I make equally non musical noises with amps. No problems.

Thats kinda why I will die in this house.I have a addition with cathedral ceiling.I have 26 amps in here and the nieghbors are far away enough.Thats my only fun these days.We could be doing a lot worse than cranking up our amps,Mikey

I crank out in the garage and the neighbors love it. They're all a bunch of pot heads and drunks. There's something to be said for the 30 something generation.
