Part supplier for Trainwreck builds?

Post by Mark »

I'm thinking this sort of thing should be sticky post.

The stuff that comes to mind is chassis', transformers, resistors, caps and suitable replacements, pots and wire.

I have Marstran Express transformers, which I've heard are very good. I wonder about resistors, they are such a big deal to the Dumble builders but barely rate a mention here?

Solid core PVC wire is another item that I'm only aware of Apex Jr having available.

All thoughts welcome.
Yours Sincerely

I stock PTFE/Teflon solid core not PVC
Also stock the Bourns guitar amp pots, 450V caps too.

There is info in the BOM. Some of it is out of date. Moose is still down as a supplier of transformers.

Also MB Electronics only sells the wire in 25 foot reels. That would last me several life times at rate I'm building.

My favorite wire is what fender used in their blackface amps the white wire, if I only had 1,000 foot roll of that stuff. :) I don't even know what it is tinned solid PVC?
