dlator bypass switch question

Post by mat »

Would this be the right place to put the dlator bypass switch (in circuit, not physical place).

Thanks

That is a good place and it will work as drawn - you may want to keep the send alive for recording/line out reasons; if so, look at: https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=1479

Thanks heisthl :D

Wow! Your schem has it all  fet input,d-lator,2tube reverb, line out, fan 8) I have to save it for the further study :D

Would You think it could affect the sound when the send portion of the dlator is always in the circuit ? (noob question).

Another question: I have now in my nonHRM bias that has single 10k pot + single 10k to ground for the two 6L6's and that combination gives enough range for both 6L6 and 6V6's. In the new HRM project I have two 47k pot's and was planning to put two 43k's to ground for separate adjustment for the (JJ)6V6's or 6L6's. Would You think this combination could work for me ?
Thanks,
mat

I couldn't tell the difference of having the send disconnected or left on all the time - it does not seem to load down the circuit tonewise or volume wise.
As to the bias values - I have to play with these every time I use a different transformer. On one of my last builds I used a bassman70 power xformer and these values for dual bias pots:

of course my range is smaller for 6L6 only. I like to take the bias off the wiper so I can treat the pot value like a fixed resistor and use voltage divider formula to calculate values and corresponding voltage available at each end of the pot. The current flow in a bias circuit is almost nothing so you can keep the R values high(over 10K).

Ok, thanks again 8) I'll take some pictures today about the progress.
