Hee,

Cool link! Nice saturated sound as well with nice overtones! Is this based on a specific dumble amp?

Has anyone had a Blues Deluxe modded by Jim and Omega? Mine went in the mail today. He said it is a "Trainwreck inspired" mod .. which sounds good to me.

Any other BD fans out there?

jp@Omega. i`ve got some customer feedback..basically it`ll be @ the same modification... Omar, PLS PULL this if i`m outa line...i usually am..

jp asked me to share with you my thoughts on the Blues Jr amp that he worked on. First let me say..... I LOVE IT! The amp was okay in stock form but it distorted too early and seemed resticted. The master volume pot did not give very good volume control and I wanted to to see if Jim could fix that while giving me a little more headroom and "opening up" the amp to give me the tone I was looking for.

Let me say that the amp that Jim returned to me was totally different than the one I shipped out! The amp has a new level of sustain and harmonics and it sounds great whether you are playing clean or in over-drive. I asked Jim to voice it a little on the clean side as I don't play a lot of high distortion music and he nailed it. The tone is full and rich and the higher volume settings give a nice distortion and great sustain like some of the expensive boutique amps. I own a Mesa Boogie Subway Reverb Rocket that I have enjoyed for several years, but this little Fender now sounds a lot better and the Boogie may begin to collect dust.

The amp sounds great with the stock speaker, but I decided to swap it out for an old JBL D123 that I had. It is a shallow full range speaker built in the 60s for special applications and not necessarily a guitar amp speaker. Well, this change made the amp sound even better. It has a lot more bass without being muddy and the top end has real sparkle. This little single 12" amp sounds like a screaming black face Fender Twin. As you can tell, I am very pleased with Jim's work and his price is very reasonable for the new level of performance that you get. Jim has also been great on following up and he has backed up his promise of making sure I was satisfied. I will recommend him without any reservations. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions that I can help with.

I had Jim mod not a Blues Deluxe but, a Hot Rod Deluxe for me about a year and a half ago. He did nothing short of a miracle with what was a really crappy overdrive section in that amp. I have since sent it back for an update on the tweak he does for that amp. I dig it even more now! Jim is a great guy and turns those inexpensive Fenders into something that is a great bang for the buck.
