7 pin pentode for first stage
I have little room in a chassis to make a preamp and wanted to see if you guys could recommend a 7 pin pentode.I have a few NOS sockets and noticed they were common in some older, cheaper amps

Pentode - 7 pin?
The most common for audio use would be a 6AU6.
Cheers,
Ian

Check out the tiny (but mighty) 5654.....military grade 7-pin that I have had great results with. Never had one go microphonic, which is very common in other "not so military grade" little pentodes.
An eBay seller has tested pairs of 5654 for sale for $4.75 shipped.
