Theatre shooting
Yeah, I just don't go places anymore.. without 2 pistols and 50 rnds of ammo.
Never gonna happen... to me.
Moron killed a bunch of people having fun. He should be whipped until he gags, and gagged til he expires, on TV. Plastic bag over his head, and hang him in a tree.
Some people don't deserve a life. This guy is one of those people.
I really hate a bully, or a thug.. Inhuman piece of shit.

Re: Theatre shooting
The shooter forfeited his humanity. Put him on trial today. There are enough eye-witnesses for it to be an open-and-shut case and get him convicted fair-and-square.
Let justice be swift. Put him against a wall by the end of today. Let the surviving victims, and their family and loved ones, shoot him till the state of Colorado runs out of bullets or their trigger fingers cramp up.
May he rot in hell.

Re: Theatre shooting
I hadn't heard about that shooting.
What a friggin' coward.
Put him against a wall and let the family members take him down.
I hate that sort of thing, not only are there people taken from their families but it does nothing to preserve our 2nd amendment rights.

If even one person there had been armed he could have been put down.

I agree you all of you.
Its 2012 I'm surprised that capitol hill hasn't taken away all weapons and locked us in terrorist camps yet. Oh wait 2012 isn't over yet.

More people should get CHL's, these punks wouldn't be so quick to try that stuff.

It is absurdly difficult to get a carry permit in New York State. And even if you get one, there are so many exceptions (where even carrying with a permit is disallowed) that you can't have one in the places you'd need it most ..... like New York City.
Re: Theatre shooting
I don't think you need any kind of permit to carry aweapon in your car here.If you do they don't enforce it.
We use to bring our deer rifles to school during hunting season
It wouldn'tbe uncommon to show off your new rifle in th school parking lot Probalyeven have a teacher check it out too. This was only 20 yearsago what in the hell happened.
Of course if someone would have shot this dumbass I'm sure they would have ended up in prison for breakin some stupid gun law.
Don't forget the ol' boy in Oklahoma thats doin life for shootin some thugs robbin his store.
Its time to wake up our rights are being trampled more and more each day.

I often wonder how many of these freaks are being treated with phsyco drugs.
They can't deal with real life, and go off their rockers either slowly or deliberately.
A lot of murder-suicides with families these days also.
I grew up with guns all around me.
Only incident was one troubled teen offing himself.

Re: Theatre shooting
Shooter was a neuroscience PhD student at University of Colorado Denver.

Re: Theatre shooting
Listening to a psychiatrist interview on Coast to Coast.
He points out that in tandem with very low self esteem, many of these mass shooters are on phsyc drugs.
Or recently off of them.
Hmmm.
I believe these drugs shield people from the realities of dealing with the challenges of day to day life.
They can't cope like normal people.
I know someone at work like that.
Fits the description of "He is always quiet and polite, but seems tense and closed off to others".

Re: Theatre shooting
We need to start looking at human rights from both sides, not jist the defense of a perp. There is my rub. I think the victimized are the important party in every situation.
I always try to second guess everything that ever happens. I just can't figure out why the bastard wasn't rushed and tackled then brutally disassembled by the closest 20 people.
The thugs and the government thugs have thugged us so hard we don't risk involvement. That is what I think.
Tragically successful with a deranged plan to destroy for no reason other than ego. Self-absorbed piece of shit. Brutal.
100 years ago people ran to a fire. In the last 50, we've just become logs. Dull, numb wood.
I am very angry that I cannot respond in kind.
Civilized? My ass.

Re: Theatre shooting
Although the facts are still coming in about the suspect, (love that word, don't you?)
He apparently was a grad student of Neurology.
Had full body armor, two Glock 40's, a 12 gauge and a AR15 type rifle.
I am surprised as well that a group of guys didn't tackle his ass and take him down.
But I think I read that the crowd was aged 13-30 years old and it may be that the older men were caught up in the panic.
I know at the Cineamax near me that the walls dividing the theaters are pretty cheesy and you can hear the special effects from the other movie.
That is what some of the patrons described, that they heard popping and assumed it was from the movie.
Could it be that this nut case timed his attack to the loud part of a shooting scene in the movie?
Then after the people saw the smoke they knew something was wrong.
What a terrible thing to happen at a happy occasion for these movie goers.
There really needs to be a better deterrent for these mass shootings.
No amount of gun control or bans on high capacity magazines will stop the determined psychos.
How about a public stoning?
Tie him to a pole and let the 12-14 relatives of the dead throw 2 pound rocks at him until dead.
Then leave him there for a few days.
March some violent offenders by the corpse and see how they live there lives from then on.
Sorry, that is a knee jerk reaction but I'm pretty ticked off by this one.
When my wife and I were married, we were on our honeymoon in Colorado when Columbine happened.

C'mon Tom, you got to be kidding me. First of all, this was a well planned and executed terrorist attack, using textbook tactics. IMHO, people behaved exactly as I would have expected them too.Structo wrote:

The "suspect" had all the tactical advantages.
1. Natural cover - very low light, he wore black and some may have even have thought it part of the movie theme.
2. Artificial cover- created sonic and visual diversion and once the shooting started he had muzzle flash(night blindness) and gunfire as cover. Most sane untrained persons, old or young aren't going run toward sustained shotgun blasts and semi-auto rifle fire.
3. Packed theater room- 3 aisles, usually two narrow outside aisles, one wider center aisle. All three aisles serve as ingress and egression for the room. Think about it, you have to stand up just so your neighbor can pass by. The room is designed by default to literally keep you in your seat.
Under normal circumstances when a movie is over, one has to wait to exit from the row into the aisle. Now let someone start shooting and it will be literally impossible to even get out of the row.
To all the "Steven Segals" that think those unarmed folks could or should have done differently, ask yourself this ....how many times have you been shot at from relatively close range ?
4. He transitioned- he moved about, eventually moving to a stairwwell supposely. Given that the moviegoers where unarmed, by staying in transition it would minimize the chance of him being tacked. High cover is always an advantage from offensive and defensive standpoints.
The fact of having a gun doesn't automatically assume the outcome would have been different. Best wish case in this situation, an armed person could have CNS shot terminated him or possibly slowed him down. This type of situation would tough enough in controlled kill house training.
Once we get outside the firearm fallacy of TV and the ocassional "suspect shoot" video on YouTube, there's more missed shots that hits in real gunfights. The skill based requirements to obtain a CHL or CCW permit in most states is pathetic. Some of them is no more than if you can read, you can literally get a permit.
That is certainly true for undocumented psychos. Now if you limit the availability of 100 round drum magazines to the general population, in theory it might decrease the possibility of it being used in a gun crime. In reality until there is precognitive crime prevention, any crime will continue to exist.Structo wrote: No amount of gun control or bans on high capacity magazines will stop the determined psychos.
