Using a Headphone Tap w/ an Amp

Hi all, I can't get my headphone tap (http://www.rolls.com/pdf/M_PM52.pdf) to work with my Super Champ. Does anyone know how to properly connect a headphone tap to an amp?

I have tried connecting the tap to the amp's "line out," and also tried connecting the tap to the pre-speaker signal cable (which traditionally goes to the speaker output), but neither have worked. I am trying to rule out whether or not the tap is defective.

It'll work, it's just a voltage divider off the speaker jack. The bottom leg of the divider is a pot, so that it's adjustable. The top leg of the divider is fixed so you can't turn it up too much. FWIW, it's gonna sound really really bad for anything that's not a clean tone

It appears the unit is setup to be driven at speaker level voltage, which is divided down for headphone outputs. Looks as if manufacturer intends you to plug output into amp and then plug speakers into this box - it can be used as a pass through. The 'power amp loop' jacks are in parallel, so you can connect a mono speaker out to either jack. The mono/stereo switch connects the second channel to the tip (instead of ring).

Good point, there must still be load on the amplifier! You can use it with a dummy load for silent operation (not including the headphones, of course).

Could the box be plugged into the effects loop of an amp?
