I have a nice 707 but the 12ax7 measurements are pretty low on the scale and don't translate too well to mmhos. The other 12a*7 variants test just fine on the sockets to a 100% scale. The 12ax7 scale goes to 30 where 22 is still good.
I was thinking of sacrificing one of the other sockets to set up a new 12ax7 only station. Maybe changing the loading so a broader, linear scale can be seen to match and better describe the performance and relate to other testers. (Portability if you like).
Has anyone done something like this or have any experience ?
I don't want to get another tester just for 12ax7's if I can avoid it.
