"New" Klon

Post by strato17 »

I'm not trying to start a "Gear Page craze" thread here. I was just curious as to if anyone had any updated information on the new Klon.

The pedal is definitely over-hyped. That said, it is my favorite OD that I've played with EL84 amps. I have a JHS clone that gets pretty close, but isn't quite the same as a real thing.

I beginning to doubt that this thing will ever get released. It was brought to NAMM:

His website still has the same message from December: http://www.klon-siberia.com/

Anyone know anything?

Who cares when it comes out. I've built six of them already, not a big deal. It's like the new tube screamer, everyone will have one soon.

$1,400 for a pedal? That's an alterior-motive brownie wrapped up in a brown paper bag that smells like I stepped in some brown stuff...

and there's not even any smoke involved! (voltages are too low...doh)

$1,400 for a new Klon, eh?

That's a little too rich for my blood.

In any case, I would like to hear how the new ones sound ..... even if I am unwilling to part with that much $$$ for one. Maybe someone will post a YouTube demo.

I don't think I've ever spent that much on an amp.

I can think of a lot of better things to spend $1,400 on.

That will allow one more to be sold at The Gear Page to the booteek guys.

Seriously, I doubt it will ever come to market.
That ship has sailed and there are numerous clones on the market now.

Don't let that smoke out!

The new one isn't going to be $1400. That what some idiots are paying on Ebay for them.

Who makes the best clone? I'v A/b'd a few with the real deal, and while they come close, none were spot on. I kept missing this cool low-mid thing.
