Filter caps on a Rocket -- re-configure (no stack)?

I do my filter caps in different manner than Ken did. I still glue the caps to the chassis, although I use radial electrolytics setup in a single line next to the preamp/pi board. I will see if I have a photo handy of this layout.

....and, if it is not too late to ask a few follow-up questions.....

Telentubes, your layout diagram intrigues me. I confess that I do not fully understand the rationale behind some of the design of your filter-cap rail. Specifically, it is the set up of the 80uF cap that leaves me scratching my head:

Can you tell me the rationale behind connecting the positive end of the 80uF to chassis ground via the (2) 100K resistors in series?

If you look at the postd layouts for all the TW builds inn the file section you will notice these resistors on the Express and Liverpool but absent on the Rocket.
These drain those caps. Not sure why they were absent from the Rocket.

I suspect they are there for that reason.

Found a photo of my Torpedo 50 (Rocket style circuit with EL34s) showing how I do my filter caps and dropping string. Simple to do and easy to change if you get a bad cap.

Well if were talking non-traditional TW amps then I have a few different board styles I use.

Those look nice Mark. I too have done the filer caps and dropping string on boards, however I like the clean look and convenience of the style I am using. And, you I love doing some true point to point in my builds. I had a whole mess of radial electrolytics that I got for a song, so I came up with using them in this fashion. Also, the first cap is actually a snap in style cap, but works great for this style. I got a whole mess of those for ultra cheap too. Nice quality stuff to boot.

You might notice that my board has a bunch of extra eyelets. The board has the necessary eyelets and space for the reverb components. I do this on my non-reverb Torpedo models so that they can be converted to reverb models with not much hassle.

Yes its good to have the option of adding reverb to the board like you do.

I have some large snap in caps I need to use up too, hoping to build some bass amps one of these days.

Also I want to do some other circuits with the old odd ball tubes I have.
