Does anyone have schematics for adding an FX loop to the Trainwreck circuit?

Are you allowed to say that out loud?

First of all I better go on the record stating, "I do not approve and that is completely sacrilegious! That flies in the face of the purity and brilliance of everything a Trainwreck circuit stands for! I am appalled!"

But, you need your amp to suit your needs and you see people installing Master Volumes on these, I don't think it is quite as bad as that, just less common it seems... I don't think I've seen anyone with a schematic drawn for it. I'm sure someone will have an idea for a way to minimize the damage as much as possible when installing one. A simple interrupt-style effects loop might at least re-establish a proper balance when not in use...

This idea might be a starting point:

For best results, install the FX loop after the speaker.

A simple series loop will not work. You'll have to moderate the gain so much you may as well use another amp. The loop would take the place where all the magic happens in a Wreck thing copy inspired by Twainweck clone faux copy thing. A buffered loop will do much better, and still eff it up, your Ken Kischer inspired copy.

Yep. Wet-Dry rig is your best bet for not F-ing up the tone. Run the amp into your dry rig speaker cab as normal, tap a preamp out off of the speaker out, feed it to effects and a(n even solid state) power amp and speaker cab. Run the effects fully wet or as close to as possible. Glen K/Geetarpicker shares some of his rig info in threads in this forum.

For a Rocket, it wouldn't be as much a turd in the punchbowl. But for an Express or Liverpool, that's the wrong amp to be futzing with the structure with a loop in the middle of the signal path. Maybe an ODS in that other forum is more the thing if you need the loop integrated into a single amp.

Yeah the Rocket is easy to add an interrupt loop which I have done many times but I wouldn't think of trying a loop on the Liverpool or Express.

There are a number of FX loop schematics here:

In my 20+ years of working with these amps this thread (link below) shows in detail the best wet/dry setup I've come up with to date. Sure it is more complicated and requires a little more gear than an effects loop. However to me it's the best way to do this without ANY compromise on the dry tone and/or on the clean to mean range when controlled from the guitar.

My only reason for inquiring is because I want to find the best way to add effects without diluting the basic tone of the amp. Thanks for the ideas.

do you have the details on a interrupt loop for the rocket? is there the ability to turn it off, essentially take it out of the signal path?

Thanks

Here are two layouts to follow and there are other ways of making a more elaborate system. The first one has a switch.
