At risk of reigniting one of the endless holy wars, I'll offer that film caps of equal value all sound the same to me. But I don't claim to have golden ears. YMMD.

People that build effects pedals love those things but I think it is more of a novelty than how the cap sounds.
They look cool. :D

ya I just had a chance to pick some up they were cheaper than orange drops and more expensive than mallories so I got some.
just thought I would check if there were any issues before I had to trace down a problem in the amp.
Thanks Bill

They aren't the strongest construction in the world, the leads are weakly welded onto the bodies, so be careful when bending around the leads. They break out the side very easy, much easier than modern caps.

I never noticed a tonal improvement with these but I found literally hundreds of them in NOS condition from a place in Austin when I was building pedals. Paid friggin pennies for them too. I don't ever use them anymore because, as I said before, they never sounded any better than other cap technologies and are easy to break.

Thanks Cliff thats what I needed to know.
I got a few cheap, enough to make an amp.
They looked cool but I probably would have broke a few without that knowledge.
