Wow!! Great job! Beautiful guitar. I should have guessed given the quality of your builds and cabinets!

I have always liked those old butterscotch blonde '52s where the color seems to turn more orange with age and the maple neck darkens. I have been considering putting together a '52 type Tele for a long time.

Kudos Jeff - Very cool builds. Some serious attention to detail.
I bet that Tele sounds sweet with your creations.

More progress on Betty tonight. Spent the day in Chicago at Guitar show so I did not get to work on her much, but managed to run some wires. :)

It was the Texas Guitar Show's Chicago Show. It was Saturday and Sunday the 19th and 20th. It was in St Charles at the DuPage Expo Center. Not a big turnout but we had fun anyway. There are about 3 show in the Chicago area to go to. Here is a link to upcoming events from Vintage Guitar Magazine.

I like to go to quite a few Shows around this area, Chicago ,Detroit,Nashville, Columbus, Arlington, this was not so close but huge and very fun. :D

What's funny is Vintage Guitar hails from Bismarck, North Dakota and not one year has there been a guitar show in North Dakota!

I better write them.

Progress picture of Betty. Ingrid ended on Ebay, guess I missed my chance to own a real one, will have to continue to build these inferior clones of one of the coolest amps ever. Maybe if I had left work early, went to the bank, ignored my wife, skipped dinner I could have bid on it. Wait that may not have worked either, I would be unemployed, in debt and my wife would own my new amp and half of everything else after the divorce. :) I guess inferior will have to do for now...

Don't sell yourself too short on this amp... Ken Fischer prided himself on making great sounding amps from the cheapest and most common components around him. I doubt that you are starting from inferior components so it's just a matter of tweaking... and you saved $30K.

I like these amps better than any I own, maybe because I built them. The parts used in them are top notch, from you or elsewhere. When I say inferior I speak of my stature as a builder compared to Ken or other amp makers out there. They sound good to me and maybe after I build 100 or so
they will sound better? :) And a good point you made, I saved $30k. To buy parts to tweak with??? :D and I am still happily married.

You got it right I think - the magic is in Ken Fischer's genius but he was a humble guy at the same time.... and you are on track with that part of it.

Shoot, I know plenty of guys that would spend $30K to be happily married - that might even be cheap... and you got both, the good wife and the $30K. Having a DIY Wreck amp on top of all that... you got it made!

Progress on Betty this weekend, mounted filter caps and started wiring them.
Also made a chassis stand from pallet wood and leftover cherry wood from a project started for another post real soon. :)
