Re: Pacific power transformer layout
I'd bet the yellow/red stripe is the CT, so hook up the primary and measure from one each a red, yellow, and a yellow/green to the yellow red. Separate the leads between two pieces of masking tape to keep things "orderly."

Sounds like you have an Edcor not a Pacific PT.

My guess is:harris51 wrote:the wires: Coming for one side 2browns 2 blacks 2 reds 2yellow 1white/brown stripe 1 yellow/red stripe 2yellow/green stripes

Primary is two black wires
Two red wires are secondary HT yellow/red is CT (hghest voltage)
Two yellow/green stripes is secondary HT (lower voltage)
Two yellow wires are 5v tap no CT
Two brown are 6.3v tap and white/brown CT
But I would get ahold of rj or Pacific

Re: Pacific power transformer layout
I think that may be it Mark, and that would be pretty much standard color coding. On the Pacific I just got from rj one set of HT's are plain yellow, but I don't think this is one of his. If the yellow wires are heavier gauge that would tend to confirm that they are 5V. I'd just do some continuity checks to separate the windings, power it up, and measure the voltages.

if anyone has a layout that would help even more

Re: Pacific power transformer layout
Yes there are many possibilities but with only a few rare deviations, the Pacific's for Trainwreck builds use the wiring diagram that Randy's note pointed to earlier in this thread -- http://www.rjguitars.net/Digital_Images/Pacific_PT.jpg
Edcor transformers are typically Blue with the exception of a few of them I custom ordered recently that have gray end bells. I also know that a few Pacifics have been around that also use gray end bells but everything I sell from them is black. I've never seen anything but Black end bells on the Heyboers, although it's possible that any of them could be painted any color.
One other "standard" is that most of the Trainwreck Tranny makers use black for the mains wiring. If you can confirm this then power up the tranny it will allow you to measure what is what before you start cutting and soldering wires.

it's just like the diagram in rj's reply. except the addition of a 5v winding for 5v tube rect. heaters. rh
