tolex & grill cloth work

anyone in the DE, PA, NJ or MD area that can do some tolex & grill cloth work?

Check out recent posts on the "For Sale/Trade" section:

There is "ampmike" in Penn. and "amplifiednation" in Mass. Both are reputable craftsmen.

You might try a local upholstery shop. IMHO, there is nothing very special about covering a cabinet with material, hiding the corners, etc., particularly for someone who has any reasonable amount of experience, a decent shop, and proper tools. Stretching the grill cloth is relatively easy.

There are a number web page postings that show how it's done. You can always print one of them to show to the "upholstery man" so he can catch the nuances of doing a guitar cabinet. Here, I did a search on "how to tolex" and this came to the top...more than enough here. http://guitarkitbuilder.com/content/how ... er-cabinet What you save in shipping, you can apply to the labor cost. I think you'll come out at least even and probably ahead. You'll also have a "go to" guy for the next time.
