Reverb Unit in front of Liverpool?

I know that like me, there are others that don't just stick to the (proper) procedure of plugging the guitar straight into their Liverpool or Express.

Does anyone have any experience running a 65 reverb type unit in front of their Trainwreck? How does it take it? Does it cause a lot of problems? Is it noisier than some pedals can be? How does it effect the guitar volume knob thing?

Right now I often use a true bypass loop around a EH Holy Grail Reverb, EH Wiggler, and a Boss DD20, so that I can remove them from the chain and go straight into the amp. I find the two EH pedals can cause quite a bit of extra noise when they are being used with my liverpool. I really want to make a Revibe unit to replace them and get that great sound, but I'm wondering if it would be a waste of my very little money...if I can ever gather enough for the parts...

Thoughts? Am I just asking for trouble?

Thanks Mark. That was an interesting read. So from that conversation I gather that using effects with a Trainwreck is usually done post-amplifier or not at all and just use a second amp for effects.
Traditionally, I have done just that with an A/B/Y pedal and had my dry Liverpool to one side and another amp (usually my DC30 combo) with effects on the other side. Aside from losing a bit of signal power to both amps when in Y mode it worked quite well...
Actually, another problem in Y-mode was that when rolling back guitar volume, the second amp would not just clean up, but get much quieter than the Liverpool, to be expected, but in cleaner moments, that's usually when I want more of the other (cleaner) amp with the reverb and such.

However, in an attempt to be not such a high-maintenance guitar player taking up so much real-estate on stage, I've been using just 1 amp for shows in the last few months. The Liverpool is always the go-to amp, so if I must have an effect, it goes in front.

65 Reverb units are meant to go in front of the amp anyways, so do they also work ok with Trainwrecks? I'd love to know...

Add a simple variable direct out to the 1st amp to feed the chain with, then to the second amp. The second amp would like a loop return, but it works ok just plugged in.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.

So I think I'm understanding that this method still uses two amps and two speaker cabs because the first amp still needs a load. Do you find that this sounds better than using a trainwreck for dry and a second amp (with effects in the effects loop) for wet? (because it requires bringing two full amp setups)

Other than doing the same with loops, it's the only way I do it.

I don't have a dry rig in these setups. I have stereo or LCR and all channels have their own effects. Direct out works somewhat better than passive loop. Lots.
