"Here is an exact quote from Alexander when I mentioned the continued interest in the Angel's Breath amp to him yesterday:"
""The best thing to tell the fans about the Angel's Breath amps is that they will never be released to the general public. They are entirely secret and
only for use in professional studio situations by the likes of Robben, Larry, Bruton, and a couple of others that I can't even disclose their names."
So hush, hush on the QT.
Must be old since Bruton passed away 3 years ago.
I remember Alexander talking about this type of amp, don't think he is doing them anymore. Now just focusing on big money quick mods the Ultra stuff. He is refusing to make amps for people I sent him as well. Must be nice to turn down 20K amps
I don't know from where you got your information, however there is only one Angels Breath amp Alexander made and he still owns it. BTW, it's a combo amp. The Ultraphonix is not a quick mod, he builds the amps from ground up. It's also not correct that he doesn't build other amps anymore, but I guess he is busy enough with his own customers to take your's.
If you know about one Angel's Breath, there are for sure at least two of them in existence.

Apparently Robben had one in the studio.
From Robben's tech Daved:

yeah, robben used that angels breath on one of his albums... KWS is not that amp as posted, deluxe rebuild though. i wonder why the Ultraphonix hasn't been decoded? seems like that would be a easier simpler amp to clone. im pretty sure brandon did one at least. anyone else build one?
Maybe you misunderstood me.
I meant the quote must be old Since Bruton has passed. Since it is a new quote as I read more carefully maybe he was using Brutons name in past tense or didn't know he wasn't with us anymore. He was a a great guy, I did a lot of work for him when he played with Bonnie. Alexander did talk to me about a series of studio amps he was making like 10 years ago, low wattage. Alexander and I go way back but I haven't talked to him in 3 years or so. As far as making new overdrive specials he has told quite a few people (not all my customers) including some excellent players he isn't doing that right now and concentrating on the Ultraphonix and that he was accepting Ultraphonix orders. I am well aware that the Ultraphonix is a complete new build (sort of depending on the donor amp) but it is a hell of a lot quicker I have to imagine than building a ODSpecial type amp. No chassis to think about is sweet as well as no switching and not so much concern about cosmetics although some have two channels. I have heard quite a few of them but they were all pretty different sounding as well as their features. Sure he can pick and choose who he wants to make amps for as well as what project has him interested since that seems to be what he likes to do. Unobtanium however is what creates groups like this one.

Strange. I spent the better part of my idle thoughts this afternoon on your post. Knowing that Mr. Dumble has such a great mastery of audio electronics circuitry and created such a great following of his amplifiers, and some huge name players in front of his amps. I can't help but wonder why.... it's a bit baffling... but perhaps he's satisfied making enough but not too much money. And having opportunities to work with people he respects in the industry.
Quality, repeatability, brand loyalty, price elasticity are all things that come to mind when I think of Mr. Dumble's legendary amplifiers. I do wonder what turned him off so badly.... He obviously was more ambitious at one point than he is today.
Maybe he's just not interested in building amps anymore. He proved he can do it, that he can do it well, but maybe now he's bored with it. Could it be that all he really wanted to do all along was make a few killer amps for his favorite players? I don't know, but can completely understand.
