What output transformer does the lightning use?

I've read they mismatch the ot and use 4k ot not 8k like you'de exspect for a 2 x el84 amp. mark

Both the Spitfire and Lightning use an OT with a 4k primary. You can can get original Matchless spec'd transformer sets from West Labs:

Could be, originally West Labs bought up an order that Matchless couldn't pay for when they were having business troubles.
