Loud squelch on standby

Hi All,

New symptom arose today.

Turn on power switch
Let warm up
Turn on Standby switch off then:

Loud squelching that cycles 3 to 4 times then quits.
The squelch gets louder if I increase the volume pot.

Otherwise amp plays fine.

Any ideas?

Hi All,

Found the issue.

Chop sticked the amp...Lead dress.
One solid core wire did not like wher it was setting.
These amps are ultra sensitive to wire placement!!!!!
