Well I have gone and done it. I have the parts together to build a Liverpool style amp, and can't wait to get going on it. The Rocket clone I built was a rewarding project and sounds killer. Two friends want me to make liverpool style amps for them too after hearing my Rocket style amp. I figure I could save a little on shipping building multiple amps. Building one liverpool first to work out the bugs and then will build the other two. I have the first head cabinet done, figured cherry with Tru Oil finish. If things go right may also make a couple of cherry 2x12 speaker cabinets.
As I said I have gone and done it, hope things go smooth????? I think with the forum and it's information and great members it will. Thanks in advance.

That cab is beautiful. It would definitely be interesting to see how close or far apart they sound to each other. Might also be nice to be able to audition different components.

Thanks,
So far the plan is to make them all a little different, VVR circuits for two amps, I have an attenuator so one will most likely be without. Alpha pots in one maybe, Alessandro Carbon PEC's in one, or two? Solid core preamp wire in one, stranded wire in one? I know for sure they will all be a little different, otherwise I would go out and buy three off the shelf AC30's or Marshall's mass produced in a factory by machines that don't care about what they are building or how they sound as a final product. Not to say that all mass produced amps sound bad, but I like to be able to tune an amp to get the best sound I know how to from it. (It is a very long and slow learning process, and I have a long way to go) but it is fun for me. Cabinets will also be different as one friend wants cherry, one dark finished ash, and the third cherry or figured maple.
Here are some more pictures of the progress of the first chassis.
Most of the holes for the chassis are drilled, will add ground points later when I install tube sockets and caps. Have to drill holes for bottom cover also. Everything fits well and I made a template for the other two amps. Will be nice not to have to measure and layout hole locations. Wish I had a CNC machine.......oh wait these are hand made.

Guilty, Flew sport aerobatics and pattern for years, now flying helicopters when I find time

Great looking cab, did you build that yourself or someone else supply it?
Thanks
Sean
I will keep the pictures coming, I built the cabinet from the plans on the forum. People here are great and very helpful. I could'nt do it without thier help. Hope to see pictures of your progress as well.
Looking good! Is the metal caps isolated by a transparent film of some kind? I cannot see it on the picture. If not, be careful that the case isn't shorting out the resistors.

The caps do have a heavy transparent plastic case over them.
Power supply board is together now also. I will try to work on more as i have a day off. Enjoying this build so far. Just purchased nice tiger stripe cherry for another head and matching speaker cabinet. Getting excited.

Ok it was a good day off. After I took the wife to the pet store for fish supplies. (Have to keep her happy) I spent my evening working on Liverpool
amp 1. Things are coming together nicely so far.
