Two-Channel Clean-Overdrive switching

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but my take on it.

You can eliminate half of the relays. The input relay is not needed, that can be a single dual triode tube with the grids tied together, each half will feed path 1 or path 2.

Eliminate the two relays feeding the OD sections (RL03 / RL05). Where the two relays feeding the od section were keep the "jumper" over the OD section as shown to the next relay. This way RL04 / RL06 will either select the jumper from the clean or the output of the OD.

If the two sections were summed together with resistors, you could eliminate RL02 and mute the signal at the point where RL03 / RL05 are with jfets. This will allow you to also have both channels on at the same time or 1 clean 1 dirty if the phases are maintained.

Good power supply decoupling will be key to this design.

Good luck,

John

rogb,

Here's a project for you. Trainwreck Expresss preamp with switching EQ channels and a switching Dumble OD and power amp. I built this without the dual EQs into one of those shitty Bandmaster Reverb TFL heads a few years ago and it keeps the integrity of the original amps. SWEET!
