rocket ot
I have a marshall 401 ot has anyone tried one in a rocket, its just been sitting on the bench beleave its 4 or 4.5k thanks mark
Re: rocket ot
I would not be afraid to try it, sure. It is overall physically smaller than the typical Rocket, and this - in this case - translates to less headroom. So it will saturate sooner. This is the question then, will this work for your playing style needs and will this satisfy your quest for building a typical Rocket tone amp?
MCI is now making an AC30 OT at 4K ohms, I have only used their 3.6K ohms version in mine (Marshall JCM800) and really like it. Either one of these would be the best low $ solution IMO, but try your's first since you have it. You may like it. Good luck with the project.
BTW, those 401s were interesting amps when they worked. Clever DC voltage on the pres that ultimately fail - my experience anyway.

Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?
