Seth Lovers in a SG
Anybody ever put Seth Lover pickups in a SG? I have a set I pulled from my old Les Paul, which was actually a bright guitar. I am tempted to put them in my SG. I have 59s in the SG and liked them, but I want covered pickups in it and I would rather not buy any more pickups. Do you think it would be overly bright in the SG? Will the "honk" from these pickups be any different in the SG than the Les Paul?
Re: Seth Lovers in a SG
I reckon it should sound ok, the sg in my opinion is a darker sounding guitar than a les paul so personally i can,t see a problem, but as they say the proof is in the eating or hearing in this caseryanm74 wrote:Anybody ever put Seth Lover pickups in a SG? I've never heard that or heard of that. My opinion is that a Les Paul is one of the darkest guitars around because of its big heavy body. I've had Seth Lovers in an SG, and it sounded great to me. It's really a subjective matter, but no, I don't think it's going to ruin your sound by any means. They are good pickups period.jestaudio wrote:I reckon it should sound ok, the sg in my opinion is a darker sounding guitar than a les paul so personally i can,t see a problem, but as they say the proof is in the eating or hearing in this caseryanm74 wrote:Anybody ever put Seth Lover pickups in a SG? I'd say it really depends on your main amp. If it's bright, then you want your guitar on the darker side, or vice versa. That's what it always comes down to with me at least, matching the guitar/pickups to the amp
Let us know how it turns out.
