metal film plate resistors vs carbon films? What about the grid leak resistors?

there won't be a difference in noise levels with good modern production resistors.

I have replaced the plate resistors on the power tubes on a couple of my Fender amps with metal film and others with carbon film. Either sound better than the crackly ones that I replaced, but I haven't done a comparison in the same amp. Supposedly, the drift in values of the carbon film contains a little bit of mojo, but if it is a design where the tubes are facing down and you are planning on gigging the amp hard, the metal films may be the way to go.
A couple of years ago, I tried metal film resistors in various places in one of my Marshalls in an attempt to reduce noise. There wasn't any noticable improvement to my ears.
Lead dress and tube choice have been better ways to reduce noise in my experience.
How's that for arguing both sides and not really saying anything?

I have some pricey parts coming. I hope it was the right choice.
