Hi Chaps, Just wanted to post my impressions of the Ceriatone which I have FINALLY had chance to really open up. I've had a Fuchs Train 45 for almost a year now and got the Ceriatone a few months ago but with moving house and one thing or another, never put it in a cab.
Anyway! Got a cab now and took it to rehearsal. Classic Rock band, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Queen, Bad Company etc etc. We rehearse in a big studio room and play at gig levels. I used the amp on around 6 or 7, treble 7, middle 5, bass 4, prescence 5, bright up, hotplate -4db, through a basketweave Marshall cab with blackback 25's. Guitar was a 335 as I've been having so much trouble with the Les Paul (another story).
In a word.........FABULOUS. Chewy, thick, biting, gainy, creamy, rich, harmonic rock machine. With the 335, it just sang, very very impressed. Feedback at will, never when you didn't want it, so so satisfying to use at volume.
It's a tough call between the Fuchs and the Ceriatone. The Fuchs cleans up a little better when backing off, but then I think the Ceriatone might be meaner and more aggressive when cranked. I felt the Ceriatone was little spongier in response, the Fuchs a little tighter. But these things are just degrees of excellence, either would be great. My only problem now is which amp gets the first set on Friday night?!
Cheers,
Rob.
PS: Did I say LOUD, i mean LOUD, pardon, sorry its LOUD!
